Who is Amber Mariano?
Early life and education
Amber Mariano was born in Beaver, United States, on August 11, 1978. She grew up with a heritage that includes Croatian and Albanian ancestry on her paternal side.
She attended Beaver Area High School during her youth. Later, she pursued higher education at Westminster College located in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, north of Pittsburgh.
Survivor television career
Amber Mariano first gained widespread attention as a contestant on the second season of Survivor, titled The Australian Outback. She joined the green Ogakor tribe after auditioning on a whim and ultimately placed sixth in the competition.
She returned to compete on the eighth season, known as Survivor All Stars. During this season, she formed a strategic and personal alliance with fellow contestant Rob Mariano.
The Amazing Race and other projects
Alongside her husband Rob, Amber Mariano competed on the seventh season of The Amazing Race as an engaged couple. They performed strongly throughout the path and finished the race in second place behind winners Uchenna and Joyce.
The couple returned to compete once again on the all stars edition of The Amazing Race as newlyweds. During this subsequent appearance, they were eliminated in the fourth episode of the season.
Marriage and family life
Amber Mariano began a relationship with Rob Mariano in 2003 while they were filming Survivor All Stars together. Their relationship progressed publicly when he proposed to her during the live finale of the show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on May 9, 2004.
The couple officially married on April 16, 2005, at Atlantis Paradise Island in The Bahamas. Their wedding was featured in a special two-hour television broadcast on CBS titled Rob and Amber Get Married.
