Who is Angela Okorie?
Early life and education
Angela Okorie was born in Cotonou, Nigeria, on October 29, 1985. She grew up in the area as the third child in a family of five children. Her ancestral roots trace back to the Ishiagu town in Ivo, Ebonyi.
For her higher education, Angela attended Lagos State University to study public administration. She also studied theatre arts at the University of Lagos.
Acting career
Before entering the film industry, Angela spent a decade working as a model for a soap company. She transitioned into Nollywood in 2009. Her very first movie appearance was in the 2009 film titled Sincerity, directed by Ifeanyi Ogbonna and produced by Stanley Egbonini.
Following her debut, she appeared in a large number of productions. By 2014, she had acted in more than one hundred films. Her breakthrough to wider recognition came after she starred in the movie Holy Serpent. Major newspapers noted her as a popular actress who could interpret various roles with ease.
Over the years, Angela has taken on roles in many well-known feature films. Her film credits include Brother Jekwu in 2016, Yankee Students in 2015, and Divorce Not Allowed in 2018. She also starred in Agaracha the Lioness and Avoidable Blunder.

In 2015, Angela received significant recognition for her acting work. She won the Best Supporting Actress award at the City People Entertainment Awards for her performance in an English film.
Alongside her acting career, she has pursued musical aspirations. She has written numerous songs and expressed a strong desire to record gospel music. She once gained media attention for a music video strategy involving her song titled Baby Chuchu.
Personal life
Angela is married and has a son. She makes a conscious effort to keep her family life separate from the media spotlight. In July 2020, she held a beach wedding ceremony following her engagement to Nwele Michael Chukwudi, also known as Chuchu.
Regarding her personal views, she has spoken out against lesbianism, stating that her cultural beliefs and traditions forbid it. She has also maintained conservative standards regarding her film appearances, noting that she refuses to act nude on religious and cultural grounds.
