Early life and education
Ariana Madix was born in Melbourne, United States, on June 24, 1985. She grew up with her parents and her younger brother. During her youth, she competed in equestrian events and won two national dance championships. She attended Eau Gallie High School and graduated in 2003. Afterward, she went to Flagler College and earned a dual bachelor's degree in theatre and broadcast communications in 2007.
While studying in college, she worked at Disney World as costumed characters including Ariel, Cinderella, and Aurora. Following college graduation, she relocated to New York City to pursue a career in theatre. She lived there for five years while working as a bartender and a restaurant hostess.
Television and reality career
Early in her professional life, Ariana appeared in comedy videos for CollegeHumor. She later moved to Los Angeles and worked at Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants, which led to her casting on the reality television program Vanderpump Rules in 2013. She remained a cast member on the show for eleven seasons. Her time on the series brought her widespread media recognition and a shared victory for Best Reality On-Screen Team at the MTV Movie and Television Awards.
Beyond her reality television work, she competed on the thirty-second season of Dancing with the Stars alongside professional partner Pasha Pashkov, finishing in third place. She also began hosting the dating reality series Love Island USA and earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her hosting work. Also, she secured guest acting roles on television series including Dads, Anger Management, The Other Two, and Will Trent, along with appearances in several films.
Broadway and writing
Ariana achieved a long-term career goal by making her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago. Her initial run began in January 2024 and drew high ticket sales for the production. Due to popular demand, her time in the show was extended, and she later returned to the role for a second run in late 2024.
She has also worked as an author, releasing cocktail books. Her second book, titled Single AF Cocktails, was published in December 2023 and became a New York Times best seller. In addition to writing and performing, she partnered with her co-star Katie Maloney to open a sandwich shop and wine bar named Something About Her.
