Early life and family
Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981 in McComb, Mississippi. Her parents are James Parnell Spears and Lynne Spears. She grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana with her siblings Bryan and Jamie Lynn. Her maternal grandmother, Lillian Portell, was from London. One of her maternal great grandfathers was Maltese.
As a child, she took voice and gymnastics lessons. She also attended dance classes starting at age two. She was baptized as a Southern Baptist and sang in a church choir. Later, she studied Kabbalist teachings and became Catholic in 2021. In 2022, she stated she is now an atheist.
Rise to fame
Britney started her career in the early 1990s. She was a cast member on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club in 1992. She also worked as an understudy in the musical Ruthless!. In 1997, she signed a deal with Jive Records.

Other albums include Circus, Femme Fatale, Britney Jean, and Glory. Britney topped the Billboard Hot 100 in three different decades. She has sold over 150 million records. Forbes listed her as the highest paid female musician in 2000 and 2012.
Personal life and legal battles
Britney was married to Jason Allen Alexander, Kevin Federline, and Sam Asghari. She has two children named Jayden and Sean Federline. She released a fragrance called Fantasy in 2005. This product made over 1.5 billion dollars by 2011.
She was placed under a conservatorship for several years. In 2019, she stopped touring to focus on this legal case. She testified against her family and management for maltreatment. The court ended the conservatorship in 2021.
