Early life and background
Claire Holt Rhiannon Holt was born on June 11, 1988, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Growing up in her native Australia, she attended Stuartholme School for her education before pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.
Before finding international success, Claire faced numerous hurdles in her career. She revealed that she went through a large number of auditions in the United States before finally securing her breakthrough television and film roles.
Television and film career
Claire made her professional acting debut playing Emma Gilbert in the fantasy television series H2O: Just Add Water from 2006 to 2008. After leaving the Australian show, she relocated to the United States to expand her acting opportunities.
Her major breakthrough came when she was cast as Rebekah Mikaelson in the supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries. She reprised this popular character in the spin-off series The Originals and later made appearances in Legacies.
In addition to her television work, Claire has appeared in several feature films. She starred in the survival horror movie 47 Meters Down and the comedy horror film Untitled Horror Movie, which she also executive produced.

Later that year, she became engaged to real estate executive Andrew Joblon, and the couple married in August 2018. They share three children together, consisting of two sons born in 2019 and 2023, and a daughter born in 2020.
In addition to her family life and career milestones, Claire officially became a United States citizen in November 2019, while maintaining her connection to her Australian roots.
