Who is Davika Hoorne?
Early life and education
Davika Hoorne was born in Bangkok, Thailand, to a Thai mother and a Belgian father. Her mother provided her with the nickname Mai, inspired by a singer named Mai Charoenpura. After her parents divorced when she was 10, she grew up with her mother and her aunt.
She completed her high school studies at Kevalee International School in Bangkok. Later, she attended Rangsit University, where she earned a Master's degree from the Faculty of Communication Arts. In 2014, she purchased a house in Thailand for her father and his new family following his retirement.
Career highlights
Davika began her professional path as a model before transitioning into acting in 2010. Her first lead role was in the television series Ngao Kammathep. She achieved significant fame through the 2015 film Heart Attack, which earned her several accolades including Best Actress at the Thai Film Directors Association Awards and the 25th Suphannahong National Film Awards.
Her stardom grew further in 2013 with the movie Pee Mak, a big box office success that earned over 1 billion baht. Davika Hoorne has used her platform for humanitarian causes. In 2016, she supported UNICEF through the Basket of Hope campaign to assist children in emergency situations. She also serves as the Thailand ambassador for WildAid's Ivory Free campaign to protect elephants.
Regarding her personal life, she has been in a relationship with Chantavit Dhanasevi since 2018. Following a proposal in June 2025, the couple married on November 10 at the Maison Mystique boutique hotel located in Khao Yai, Thailand.
