Club career at PAOK and Panathinaikos

During his initial years with PAOK, he became a key figure, even serving as captain at age twenty-one when the club faced financial difficulties. In 2006, he signed a contract with Panathinaikos after a period of negotiation. This transfer involved a significant fee and several players moving in the opposite direction.
The move to Panathinaikos in 2006 caused significant unrest among PAOK supporters, who were unhappy with his departure. Despite the tension, he performed well for the greens, scoring three goals on his debut against Egaleo. He spent four successful seasons with the team, including a championship-winning campaign in 2009–2010. In 2010, he returned to his home club, PAOK. He signed a four-year deal, expressing deep affection for the team and its fan base in Northern Greece. He remained with PAOK until 2015, when his contract was terminated.
