Who is Disha Patani?
Early life and education
Disha Patani was born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. She grew up in a Hindu Kumaoni Rajput family. Her father, Jagadish Singh Patani, works as a police officer. Her mother is a health inspector. She has an older sister named Khushboo Patani who was a major in the Indian Army and works as a fitness entrepreneur. She also has a younger brother called Suryansh Patani.
For her education, Disha attended Amity University in Lucknow. She studied engineering but left during her second year. In 2013, she entered the Pond's Femina Miss India Indore pageant. She finished the competition as the first runner up.
Acting debut and early roles
Disha Patani started acting in 2015 with a Telugu film titled Loafer. She played a character named Mouni. Her first Hindi movie release happened in 2016. She appeared in the sports biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story as Priyanka Jha. This film was a big commercial hit and earned over 2.16 billion rupees. She won the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year for this role.
