Who is Erin Heatherton?
Early life and schooling
Born in Skokie, Illinois, the model was originally named Erin Heather Bubley. She grew up in her hometown and attended Niles North High School. During her time as a student, she participated in science fairs and played basketball for her school team.
Her family background is Ashkenazi Jewish. Before graduating high school, she attended the Solomon Schechter Day School. Outside of school activities, she frequented local spots in the Evanston area, including a stir-fry restaurant on Church Street and a pub known as Tommy Nevin's.
Modeling career beginnings
While vacationing in Miami, Florida, a modeling scout named Arri Taylor discovered her at South Beach. At age 17, she signed with the Marilyn Agency and relocated to New York City. She debuted on the runway in September 2006 during a Diane von Fürstenberg show.
Following her start, she walked for a wide array of high-profile fashion houses. Her runway credits include Prada, Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, and Dolce & Gabbana. She also secured her first magazine cover with Italy's Flair publication during her teenage years.
Victoria's Secret and later work
Erin Heatherton began walking in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2008. She held the status of a Victoria's Secret Angel from 2010 to 2013. During this period, she starred in several television commercials and print advertising campaigns for the brand.
Beyond lingerie modeling, she appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues in 2015 and 2016. She also became a brand ambassador for the NFL Women's Apparel Collection in 2016 and modeled for Kikirio Swimwear the following year. In 2019, she joined Select Model Management in London.
Business and personal life
In February 2021, Erin co-founded a group fitness studio in Chicago named Resistance Chicago Lagree. Her husband, Karol Kocemba, is the other co-founder of the business. She has publicly expressed that building this studio was a way to focus on something she is passionate about after leaving the modeling industry.
The model married Karol Kocemba in January 2023, having announced their engagement the previous year. They welcomed a daughter in April 2024. Previously, she dated actor Leonardo DiCaprio from late 2011 through late 2012.
