Audrey Faith Hill Perry was born on September 21, 1967, in Ridgeland, Mississippi. She was adopted as an infant and raised by her adoptive parents in Star, Mississippi, growing up in a devout Christian environment.
Faith began singing at a young age, performing at Star Baptist Church at age three and having her first public performance at a four-H luncheon when she was seven years old. During her teenage years, she sang with a local gospel quartet and performed at area churches.
