Who is Gauahar Khan?
Early life and family
Gauahar Khan was born on August 23, 1981, in Pune, India. She grew up in a Muslim family as the youngest of five siblings. Her sister is the actress Nigaar Khan. Gauahar completed her schooling at Mount Carmel Convent School in Pune before moving forward with her career.
In her youth, she pursued modeling and participated in the Femina Miss India contest in 2002. During this competition, she finished fourth and secured the Miss Talented title. Later that year, she represented her country in the Miss International contest.
Acting and reality television career
Gauahar began her television career by hosting the film gossip show Page 3 on Zoom Television. She also appeared in popular music videos, including one by Bombay Vikings titled Hawa Mein Udati Jaaye. In 2009, she finished as the first runner-up on the celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3.
She made her feature film acting debut in the 2009 Yash Raj Films production Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, playing the receptionist Koena. Following this film, she appeared in various other movies such as Game, Ishaqzaade, Fever, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Begum Jaan.
Bigg Boss and later projects
In 2013, Gauahar entered the reality show Bigg Boss as a celebrity contestant in its seventh season. She emerged as the winner of the season in December 2013 after defeating Tanishaa Mukerji. She later returned to the show as a mentor and senior in subsequent seasons.
Over the following years, she continued to take on television and web projects. She appeared in the web series Tandav and played a role in the Indian adaptation of The Office, which was released on Hotstar.
Personal life
Gauahar married actor Zaid Darbar in December 2020 after getting engaged in November of that year. The couple welcomed their first son, Zehaan, in May 2023. Their second son, Farwaan, was born in September 2025.
