Hilary Rhoda Hollis was born in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She spent her childhood years living in Maryland and Rye, New York. Growing up, she participated in sports, including field hockey and basketball, while attending the Academy of the Holy Cross in Maryland. She was a three-year varsity athlete and earned recognition as the best offensive player on her championship-winning team.
