Early life and real name
Inma Cuesta was born as Inmaculada Cuesta Martínez in the city of Valencia on June 25, 1980. Her parents were originally from Andalusia, and the family eventually settled in the village of Arquillos within the province of Jaén. Her father worked as an upholsterer, and Inma used to gather his leftover fabric scraps to create handmade handbags. She sold these items to earn money to pay for her higher education.
At the age of 18, she moved to Córdoba to enroll at the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático y Danza de Córdoba. Following her time there, she relocated to Seville for further training. In 2005, she moved to Madrid to study at the Conservatory and School of Dance, which was managed by Carmen Roche. These early years in various Spanish cities provided the foundation for her later work in theater and television.
Acting career and famous roles
Inma began her professional career in Madrid by starring in the musical Hoy no me puedo levantar, produced by Nacho Cano. She performed in this stage production for nearly three years before landing her first major television role. She played Elisa in the series Amar en tiempos revueltos, portraying a humble character who became famous as a singer. In 2008, she joined the cast of Plan América alongside Pepe Sancho.
Her film career launched with the 2007 comedy Love Expresso. She followed this with roles in El kaserón and the popular series Águila Roja, where she played the character Margarita. Inma later appeared in the movie version of the series and the comedy Cousinhood. In 2011, she starred in The Sleeping Voice, a performance that earned her a nomination for a Goya Award for Best Actress. She also appeared in the black-and-white film Blancanieves and the thriller Invader.

In 2025, Inma Cuesta married her long-term partner, Ángeles Maeso, who works as a screenwriter and producer. The couple has two children together. Inma is known for her public stance against the use of digital editing in photography. In 2015, she spoke out against a magazine for altering her image on their cover, advocating for more realistic beauty standards. She has also supported humanitarian efforts through the Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid.
