Who is Jirayu La-ongmanee?
Early life and education
Jirayu La-ongmanee was born in Rayong, Thailand. When he was three months old, he moved to Bangkok with his mother, Woranuch La-ongmanee. He attended Amatyakul School during his youth. He began working in the entertainment industry at the very young age of five.
He pursued higher education in the arts. He earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Social Communication Innovation at Srinakharinwirot University. Later, he completed a master's degree from the School of Communication Arts at Sripatum University.
Acting career highlights
He started his acting career in television soap operas, known as lakorn. He received attention for playing the role of Santi in the 2005 production Fa Krachang Dao. Following this, he was cast in the film King Naresuan as the young version of the character Boonthing.
His breakthrough came in 2011 when he starred in the Thai comedy movie SuckSeed. This role led to him winning the Daradaiy The GREAT Awards 2011 Best Actor. In 2012, he acted in the short movie Just a Second alongside Nattasha Nauljam. He also appeared in the romantic film Seven Something, which was directed by Jira Maligool, Adisorn Trisirikasem, and Paween Purikitpanya. His performance in that film earned him the 29th Saraswati Royal Awards Best Supporting Actor.
Musical career and bands
Jirayu La-ongmanee has maintained an active career in music alongside his acting. In 2015, he formed a musical group called SLEEPRUNWAY BAND where he served as a vocalist and guitarist. They released a single titled SLEEPRUNWAY. He followed this in 2016 with a solo single release called Thuk Yang Man Plian Pai Laew, which translates to Everything Has Changed.
In 2022, he performed as a special guest for the band Retrospect at the Migrants in Kaoshiung Music Festival in Taiwan. By March 2023, Retrospect announced that he had joined the group as their official vocalist, replacing the previous singer who left in 2020. This collaboration led to the release of the single titled afterlife in July of that year, marking a return to music for the band.
