Who is Karina Lombard?
Early education and beginnings
Karina Lombard was born in Afaahiti, France. She pursued professional acting education in New York City. Her training took place at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and the Actors Studio. She gained stage experience by performing at the Neighborhood Playhouse and the Gallery Theatre.
Modeling and initial roles
Before becoming a full-time actor, Karina Lombard worked as a model. A major break came when she participated in a photoshoot with a Native American theme. One of these images was selected for a billboard, which eventually led to her first acting opportunity. Her modeling work also appeared in major fashion magazines such as Elle and Vogue. This film was based on the novel written by Jean Rhys. She also had supporting parts in the 1993 film The Firm and the 1994 film Legends of the Fall. Later, she starred in the 1996 film Last Man Standing, where she acted alongside Bruce Willis.
Television acting career
During the 2000s, Karina Lombard shifted her focus toward television projects. She appeared in the science fiction series The 4400. She is widely recognized for playing the character Marina Ferrer, a restaurateur, during the first season of the drama series The L Word. She returned as a guest star in seasons four and six of that show. Other television credits include recurring roles as Geneviève on the show Rescue Me. Her television appearances also include episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: NY, and NCIS. She also appeared as chief Nonhelema in the series Timeless.
