Early life
Kathy Ireland was born on March 20, 1963, in Glendale, California. She grew up as the middle child of three daughters with her parents John and Barbara Ireland. Her father worked as a labor relations executive while her mother was a nurse. The family eventually relocated to Santa Barbara, where her relatives continued to reside.
During her youth, Kathy attended San Marcos High School. At the age of sixteen in 1979, she was scouted at her school by Elite Model Management. This discovery launched her into the fashion industry and set the stage for her future career as a prominent cover model.
Modeling career
Kathy Ireland achieved major success as a supermodel during the 1980s and 1990s. The company partnered with numerous manufacturers to market products ranging from home furnishings and wedding gowns to jewelry and pet supplies. Film television and writing
Kathy Ireland expanded her career into acting and television appearances. Her first film role was in the 1988 movie Alien from L.A., which was later featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Other acting credits include Melrose Place, Boy Meets World, The Larry Sanders Show, Side Out, Mr. Destiny, Necessary Roughness, and Mom and Dad Save the World.
