Early life and education
Kim Alexis was born in Lockport, New York, and spent her childhood in the Buffalo area. Her father Robert worked as a chemical engineer, and her mother was named Barbara. She also has a younger sister named Rhonda.
During her youth, she was an active swimmer. She began competing in the sport at six years old and continued this pursuit throughout her final year at Lockport High School. After high school, she enrolled at the University of Rhode Island with plans to study pharmacy in a five-year program. The family practiced the Presbyterian faith and attended church services every Sunday.
Modeling career
Kim Alexis gained prominence as a top model during the late 1970s and 1980s. Her image appeared on the covers of major publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour, Self, Cosmopolitan, and Sports Illustrated.
Industry peers during this time included models like Iman, Christie Brinkley, Patti Hansen, Janice Dickinson, Paulina Porizkova, Kelly Emberg, and Gia Carangi. In 1983, she secured a major contract as the face of the Revlon premium line called Ultima II, taking over the role previously held by Lauren Hutton.
Television and film work
In the 1990s, Kim Alexis expanded her career into television. She hosted health-focused programs including Healthy Kids, which aired on the Family Channel and Lifetime. Later in the decade, she hosted the MGM syndicated program Daily Edition.
Her acting credits include guest appearances such as the final episode of the sitcom Cheers titled One for the Road in 1993, where she performed alongside Mike Ditka. She also appeared in the films Body Bags in 1993 and the 1998 feature Holy Man starring Eddie Murphy. In 2005, she participated in the VH1 reality series But Can They Sing?, though she was eliminated during the second week of the competition.

In 1995, Kim Alexis began representing Alpine Lace Brands, Inc. As a spokeswoman, where she promoted their line of low-fat cheese products. She raised her three sons, Noah, Jamie, and Bobby, in the town of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
She shares a son named Noah with her former husband, Ron Duguay, who is a former professional hockey player in the NHL. She also has two sons, Jamie and Bobby, from her previous marriage to Jim Stockton.
