Early life and education
Born in Kraków, Poland, Małgosia Bela spent her childhood studying classical piano. She later pursued higher education at the University of Warsaw. She successfully completed her degree in literature before turning her full attention to the fashion industry.
Fashion modeling career
Małgosia began her professional modeling path in 1998. She walked the runway for luxury fashion houses including Comme des Garçons, Givenchy, and Balenciaga. Her editorial portfolio expanded quickly, leading to appearances in international editions of Vogue, such as Vogue Italia and Vogue Paris.
Major brands like Valentino, Jil Sander, Lanvin, and Versace hired her for advertising campaigns. In 2006, she made a significant return to the industry. Acting and film projects
Małgosia Bela transitioned into acting in 2001. She secured a leading role in the Polish movie Stranger, directed by Małgorzata Szumowska. She also appeared in the Italian and Polish co-production titled Karol: A Man Who Became Pope, which focused on the life of Pope John Paul II. Her film debut occurred in 2004 with the movie Ono.
In 2018, she joined the cast of the horror film Suspiria, a remake directed by Luca Guadagnino. Outside of film work, she expanded her creative output in 2023. She published a book titled Winter Girl, which combines elements of a memoir with an art collection.

Małgosia Bela has one son named Józef, born in 2004. His father is the Polish film director Artur Urbański, who was her first husband. She later married French magazine publisher Jean-Yves Le Fur in Italy during 2013. In late 2017, she married the Polish film director Paweł Pawlikowski.
