Who is Mahii Vij?
Early life and career beginnings
Born in Delhi, India, Mahii Vij moved to Mumbai when she was seventeen to begin a career in modeling. Her early work included appearing in various music videos, such as the DJ Aqeel remix of Tu, Tu Hai Wahi. In 2006, she secured a supporting role in the television series Akela. She also ventured into films, appearing in the Malayalam production Aparichithan alongside actor Mammootty.
Television acting roles
Her television career grew with her portrayal of Pratha in the Sahara One drama Shubh Kadam. Mahii Vij achieved her major breakthrough playing the protagonist Nakusha in the Colors TV show Laagi Tujhse Lagan. This performance earned her the Gold Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role in 2011.
Later, in 2016, she joined the cast of Balika Vadhu on Colors TV, where she portrayed the character Nandini Shekhawat until the production ended. After a nine-year break from acting, she returned to the screen in December 2025 as Kausar Baig in the series Seher, Hone Ko Hai, remaining with the show until May 2026.
Reality television and personal life
Mahii Vij is also recognized for her participation in several reality programs. She was a contestant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 and later competed on Khatron Ke Khiladi 7. In 2012, she joined the dance competition Nach Baliye 5 with her then-husband Jay Bhanushali, and the pair emerged as winners. She also joined the cast of Bigg Boss 20, which started airing on September 6, 2026.
Regarding her personal life, Mahii married Jay Bhanushali in 2011. The couple fostered two children, Rajveer and Khushi, in 2017 and welcomed a biological daughter in 2019. The pair eventually divorced in 2026.
