Who is Mia Rose?
Early life and education
Born Maria Antónia Teixeira Rosa, the musician is known professionally as Mia Rose. She was born in Wimbledon, London, and identifies as a Portuguese-British artist. Her educational background includes attendance at Saint Julian's School.
Rise to YouTube fame
Mia Rose launched her YouTube channel on 29 December 2006 during a university break. She began uploading daily videos featuring her own performances of various cover songs. Within one month of starting the account, she achieved a record number of subscriptions for a musician at that time. By November 2010, the channel had surpassed 265,000 subscribers, and her collective video content had earned over 140 million views. Despite her rapid growth, the artist faced scrutiny regarding her metrics.
