Who is Nadya Dorofeeva?
Early life and education
Nadiia Volodymyrivna Dorofieieva was born on April 21, 1990, in Simferopol, Ukraine. From a young age, she engaged in music and dancing. In 2002, at the age of twelve, she became the regional champion in ballroom dancing in Crimea. She also participated in several music competitions during her childhood.
In 2005, after finishing the ninth class, Nadya moved to Moscow. She started studying at the Moscow State Art and Cultural University for a degree in singing. She later also studied at the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Variety and Circus Arts.
Vremya i Steklo career
Nadya passed an internet casting to become the female soloist in the pop duo Vremya i Steklo, alongside rapper Oleksii Zavhorodnii. The duo was produced by Potap, and Nadya moved back to Kyiv as a result. In December 2010, the duo released their first single, which achieved mild commercial success in Ukraine.
The group enjoyed a big breakthrough in 2015 with the single Imya 505. The song became a viral sensation and the most-watched Russian-language song ever on YouTube. In November 2020, Nadya announced the start of her solo career after the breakup of Vremya i Steklo.
Solo career and projects
Following the breakup of her duo, Nadya released her first solo song as DOROFEEVA, titled gorit, in November 2020. The music video gained more than two million views on YouTube in less than a week. In the spring of 2021, she released her first EP called dofamin.
Beyond music, Nadya launched her own clothing line in 2016. She also started vlogging on her YouTube channel DoDo Vlog in 2017. In 2018, she and her colleague Zavhorodnii voiced the heroes of the Ukrainian animation film The Stolen Princess.
