Early life
Namrata Shirodkar was born on January 22, 1972, in Mumbai, India. She comes from a family with ties to the film industry, being the sister of actress Shilpa Shirodkar and the granddaughter of Marathi actress Meenakshi Shirodkar.
She completed her education at Mithibai College in Mumbai before entering the entertainment industry.
Pageantry and modelling
Namrata Shirodkar worked as a professional model during her early career. She achieved major recognition when she won the Femina Miss India title in 1993.
Following her national win, she represented India at the Miss Universe 1993 pageant, where she finished in sixth place.
Acting career
Namrata Shirodkar made her official acting debut in the film Mere Do Anmol Ratan in 1998. She appeared in several well-known films throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, including Kachche Dhaage and Vaastav in 1999.
She earned a nomination for the IIFA Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance in the 2000 film Pukar. Her film credits also include Astitva, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, LOC Kargil, and the British cinema release Bride and Prejudice.
She stepped away from acting after marrying actor Mahesh Babu in 2005 and chose to focus on her personal life.
