Who is Nora Fatehi?
Early life and education
Nora Fatehi was born in Toronto, Canada, and comes from a family of Moroccan heritage. She attended Westview Centennial Secondary School located in Toronto before moving on to higher education.
She continued her academic studies at York University, where she focused on political science and international relations. Despite her Canadian upbringing, she has expressed a deep affinity for Indian culture in various public interviews.
Entry into the film industry
She began her professional acting path with the Hindi movie Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans. Following this, she entered the Telugu film market, performing special song sequences in movies such as Temper, Baahubali: The Beginning, and Kick 2.
Fatehi also appeared in the Malayalam films Double Barrel and Kayamkulam Kochunni. In 2015, she joined the cast of the reality series Bigg Boss as a wild card contestant, remaining in the house for three weeks.
Career breakthroughs and music
Her popularity grew significantly after she featured in the song Dilbar for the movie Satyameva Jayate. This track achieved big success, becoming the first Hindi song to exceed 20 million views on YouTube within a single day. She later collaborated with the Moroccan group Fnaïre to produce an Arabic version of the same song.
In 2019, she signed a contract with the record label T-Series. This partnership led to appearances in several music videos and films, including Batla House and Marjaavaan. She also released her first international English track, titled Pepeta, working alongside Tanzanian artist Rayvanny. In 2024, she expanded her music career by signing a recording agreement with Warner Music Group.
Acting roles and television appearances
Nora Fatehi transitioned into more substantial acting roles, playing a dancer named Mia in the 2020 film Street Dancer 3D. She later portrayed a spy named Heena in the 2021 production Bhuj: The Pride of India. Her 2024 projects included roles in Crakk, where she played a social media influencer, and the comedy Madgaon Express, where she portrayed a character named Tasha.
Outside of films, she has served as a judge on reality television programs such as Dance Deewane Juniors and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10. She also participated in the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Toronto, performing the official song Siir Siir alongside singer Vegedream.
