Who is Peter Mensah?
Early life and background
Peter Mensah was born in Accra, Ghana, and comes from an academic family with roots in the Brong Ahafo Region. During his youth, he moved to Hertfordshire, England, alongside his father Peter Osei Hansah, who worked as an architect engineer, his mother who was a writer, and his two younger sisters. At the age of six, Peter began practicing martial arts, a discipline that would influence his physical presence in later roles. Though he participated in school drama productions, his initial academic focus was on engineering.
Before transitioning into acting full-time, Peter arrived in Canada to work as an engineer for British Gas, where he was involved in developing gas fields at Morecambe Bay. This unusual career path eventually led him away from engineering and toward the entertainment industry, where he used his background and physical training to secure diverse acting roles across film and television projects.
