Early life and real name
Rita Dominic Uchenna Nkem Dominic Nwaturuocha was born in Mbaise, Nigeria, on July 12, 1975. She is the youngest of four children born to a nursing officer mother and a medical doctor father. Her family origins trace back to Aboh in Mbaise, Imo State.
She attended Federal Government College Ikot Ekpene in Akwa Ibom State for her secondary education. Afterward, she went to the University of Port Harcourt to study theater and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts in 1999.
Career highlights
Rita began performing at an early age by taking part in school plays and appearing in children television programs in Imo State. She made her professional movie debut in 1998 when she starred in the film A Time to Kill. Since then, she has appeared in more than 100 Nollywood productions.
In addition to acting, she has worked as a film producer on projects such as The Therapist, Light in the Dark, Bound, The Blindspot, and Desecration. Her performances have earned her numerous honors, including the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role and multiple wins at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

In April 2022, Rita announced her engagement to Fidelis Anosike, who works as the publisher of the Daily Times. The couple celebrated their traditional wedding ceremony on April 19, 2022, in Imo State, which is her home state.
Later that same year in November, she held her white wedding ceremony with Fidelis Anosike in England. Several well-known figures from the entertainment industry attended the celebration, including actresses Kate Henshaw and Chioma Chukwuka.
