Acting career in Iran
Sadaf Taherian started her professional work in the film industry with the 2011 movie titled Nobody, Nowhere. She continued her screen work with a role in the short movie Filmi Kutah Baray-e Hamsaram in 2010. Around the same time, she appeared in the television production Cellular Phone in 2011.
Her television portfolio grew during this period with appearances in the series Woodpecker, also released in 2011. The following year, she acted in the show Like a Dream. She also appeared in the feature films Shemiran's Back alleys in 2012, Next Date, Same Place in 2013, and the 2015 production Ice Age.
Leaving Iran and career shift
In October 2015, Sadaf Taherian posted photos of herself without a headscarf on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. She stated this was a protest against being forced to wear a hijab under Iranian law. She also announced her departure from the country for Dubai.
Following her move, Iran's ministry of culture and Islamic guidance denounced her actions as immoral. The ministry subsequently banned her from acting within the country and altered her previous images to include a head covering. Sadaf Taherian has publicly stated that she left the country to speak out against the cinema industry in Iran.

After leaving Iran, Sadaf Taherian began a new professional path in the modeling industry. She has collaborated with various companies in the cosmetics, beauty, and healthcare sectors. Her work has taken her to countries such as Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
