Early life and background
Samir Nasri was born in Marseille, France, on June 26, 1987. He grew up in a northern suburb of Marseille and is of Algerian descent. His mother worked as a housewife, while his father previously worked as a bus driver before managing his son's career. Samir grew up alongside his siblings, including a sister named Sonia and twin brothers named Walid and Malik. During his early years, he played football on the streets of La Gavotte Peyret, where he developed many of his core skills before joining local youth teams.
Club career at Marseille and Arsenal
Samir Nasri made his professional debut for Olympique de Marseille in September 2004 against Sochaux. Over the following seasons, he established himself as a regular starter and featured in European competitions like the UEFA Cup. In the 2006-07 campaign, he won the National Union of Professional Footballers Young Player of the Year award and was named to the Team of the Year. He made over one hundred sixty appearances for Marseille before moving to the English Premier League.
Manchester City and later career
After three seasons with Arsenal, Samir transferred to Manchester City in August 2011 on a four-year contract. In his very first season with the club, he won his first major honour when Manchester City claimed the 2011-12 Premier League title. He went on to make one hundred seventy-six appearances and score twenty-seven goals for the club, securing another Premier League title and the Football League Cup in 2014.
International career and personal life
Samir represented France at numerous youth levels, winning the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in 2004 with the under-17 squad. He made his senior international debut for France in March 2007 during a friendly match against Austria. Over the course of his international career, he earned forty-one caps and scored five goals for his country, playing in both UEFA Euro 2008 and Euro 2012 before retiring from international football in 2014.
