Who is Todd Chrisley?
Early life and real name
Michael Todd Chrisley was born in Georgia. He grew up in Westminster, South Carolina. His parents were Elizabeth Faye and Gene Raymond Chrisley. Gene was a veteran of the Korean War and passed away in 2012. Todd has two brothers named Randy and Derrick. Derrick died in 1971 during infancy. Todd has used his middle name since he was a child. His mother worked in a textile mill for up to sixty hours weekly.
Career and television work
Todd worked as a real estate investor and agent. He managed properties and oversaw developments early in his professional life. In 2014, he became the lead on the USA Network show Chrisley Knows Best. This series focused on his family and his opulent lifestyle. The program led to a spin off called Growing Up Chrisley. This newer show featured his children Savannah and Chase.
In 2016, Todd released a song called Infinite Love. He recorded this track with country singer Sara Evans. The song reached number 39 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His television work continued until 2023. The USA Network series ended that year due to his legal problems.
Legal cases and prison
In August 2019, Todd and his wife Julie were indicted. A federal grand jury charged them with 12 counts. These charges included tax evasion and wire fraud. Prosecutors said the couple used false financial statements to get over 30 million dollars in loans. A jury in Atlanta found them guilty of all charges on June 7, 2022.
District Judge Eleanor Ross gave Todd a 12 year prison sentence in November 2022. Julie received a seven year sentence. The couple began their prison terms on January 17, 2023. They were ordered to pay 17.8 million dollars in restitution. On May 27, 2025, President Donald Trump announced he would pardon them. The White House verified the pardons one day later.
Recent work and family
After leaving prison in May 2025, Todd and Julie filmed a new series. The Lifetime show is titled The Chrisleys: Back to Reality. It premiered in September 2025. Todd and Julie also appeared on season 14 of The Masked Singer. They performed as the Croissants. They were eliminated in the first episode of that season.
Todd married Julie Hughes in 1996. They have three children together named Chase, Savannah, and Grayson. Todd also has children from a previous marriage named Lindsie and Kyle. He and Julie adopted Kyle's daughter Chloe in 2012. His son Kyle was arrested in December 2025 in Rutherford County, Tennessee.
