Who is Toni Tones?
Early life and education
The person known professionally as Toni Tones was born Gbemi Antonia Adefoye. She grew up in Nigeria as the youngest child in a family of five. During her youth, she attended Queen's College in Lagos to complete her initial schooling.
While still young, she took on modeling work for a family acquaintance named Dakova. After finishing her early studies in Lagos, she moved abroad for higher education. She attended the University of Lancaster, where she earned a degree in marketing and economics. Following the completion of her academic program, she returned to her home country in 2009 to start a career in the entertainment industry.
Professional photography career
Upon arriving back in Nigeria, Toni Tones began working as a photographer within the show business sector. Her early portfolio gained visibility and caught the attention of producers working on the reality television program Koko Mansion, which was associated with the musician D'banj.
She continued to build her reputation behind the camera lens throughout the following years. Even as she transitioned into acting roles, she maintained her photography practice. Her ability to operate both in front of and behind the camera has defined much of her professional trajectory in the Nigerian media scene.
Acting and film roles
Toni Tones has built a filmography that includes both web television series and feature films. She appeared in the web series Gidi-culture and had a role in the 2016 movie It's Her Day. She gained further attention for her portrayal of the younger Eniola Salami in King of Boys, which debuted in October 2020.
That same year, she performed in the comedy film Quam's Money. This production served as a sequel to the 2018 movie New Money. The plot centers on a security guard who unexpectedly gains a large fortune. The cast for this project included actors such as Falz, Jemima Osunde, Blossom Chukwujekwu, and Nse Ikpe-Etim.
Her work in King of Boys earned her industry recognition. At the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards, she received a nomination for the Best Supporting Actress category.
