Early life and background
Vivian Dsena was born on June 28, 1988, in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, India. His mother is of Hindu faith while his father is a Christian of Portuguese descent. His family background includes Portuguese and British heritage on his father's side. He completed his schooling at the Lokmanya Tilak High School in Mumbai up to Class 12. Also, he spent two years attending the Bhonsala Military School located in Nashik, Maharashtra.

His career began after he participated in the Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest in 2007. After moving from Ujjain to Mumbai, he secured a place among the top 10 finalists in that contest. He subsequently worked as a ramp model for designers such as Vikram Phadnis. He has stated that he faced hundreds of rejections during his early attempts to break into the industry.

In 2012, he took on a triple role in the Colors TV drama Madhubala, Ek Ishq Ek Junoon. He portrayed Rishabh Kundra, Keval Ram Kushwaha, and Raja Kushwaha. This performance earned him several honors, including the ITA Award for Performer of the Year and the Gold Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role. The show eventually broadcast in over 50 countries.

Vivian married his co-actress Vahbbiz Dorabjee in 2013. The couple separated in 2016, and their divorce was finalized in December 2021. In 2022, he married Nouran Aly, who is an Egyptian journalist. They have a daughter together, and their second child, a son, was born in March 2026. He converted to Islam in 2019 and is currently a practicing Muslim.
