Who is xQc?
Early life and background
Félix Lengyel grew up in Canada and completed high school before enrolling in a business administration program at a local CEGEP. During his second year of studies, he decided to drop out after feeling directionless in his academic path. At nineteen years old, he began streaming video games online under an initial pseudonym.
The online alias xQc was created by combining the final letter of his first name with the abbreviation for his home province of Quebec. He initially focused on playing League of Legends before shifting his attention to Overwatch, a competitive game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. This shift led him to adjust his streaming handle to reflect the new game.
Professional esports career

In 2017, he represented Team Canada in the Overwatch World Cup, helping the roster reach the tournament finals before losing to South Korea. Despite the defeat, he earned recognition as the most valuable player of the event. He continued representing Team Canada in subsequent international tournaments through 2019.
Streaming milestones and controversies
After leaving competitive team play, Lengyel focused entirely on his online broadcasting career. He signed with esports organizations such as Sentinels and Luminosity Gaming as a content creator during his career. His viewership grew significantly, making him one of the most prominent variety broadcasters on Twitch.
Throughout his broadcasting career, he faced several temporary bans and suspensions for violating platform guidelines.
