Early life and education
Alice Sophia Eve was born on February 6, 1982, in Hammersmith, United Kingdom. She is the daughter of actors Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan. Alice has two brothers, George and Jack. Her upbringing was surrounded by the arts due to her parents' professional background in acting.
She attended Bedales School and later Westminster School in London for her A-levels. During a gap year, she studied at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. She eventually read English at St Catherine's College, Oxford. While at university, Alice appeared in student productions such as The Importance of Being Earnest, Animal Crackers, and Scenes from an Execution.

Alice Eve began her professional career with supporting parts in the 2004 films Hawking and Stage Beauty. Her film credits expanded over the next decade with roles in Starter for 10 in 2006 and the 2010 romantic comedy She's Out of My League. In 2009, she played Roxane in a production of Cyrano de Bergerac at the Chichester Festival Theatre.
