Early life and education
Ana Ortiz was born in Manhattan, United States, on January 25, 1971. She grew up studying ballet for eight years until physical pain led her to pursue other artistic paths. She attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts in New York City.
Following her time at LaGuardia High School, Ana continued her education at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She trained extensively in the arts before launching her professional career on the stage.

Ana made her professional stage debut in a regional theater production of Dangerous Liaisons. She later appeared in European touring productions and various regional theater shows. She also joined the LAByrinth Theatre Company and performed in Off-Broadway productions.
In television, she appeared in shows like NYPD Blue and Everybody Loves Raymond before landing regular roles in short-lived sitcoms. Her major breakthrough came when she was cast as Hilda Suarez in the ABC comedy-drama series Ugly Betty, which aired from 2006 to 2010. Following this, she starred as Marisol Suarez in the Lifetime television series Devious Maids from 2013 to 2016, winning an Imagen Award for her performance.
Her later television work includes starring in the Hulu teen comedy series Love, Victor as Isabel Salazar from 2020 to 2022. She also appeared in films such as Labor Pains and Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, as well as voicing a role in Ralph Breaks the Internet.
Personal life
Ana married musician Noah Lebenzon on June 7, 2007, in Rincon, Puerto Rico. They have two children together, a daughter born in 2009 and a son born in 2011.
Outside of her acting career, Ana has been active in raising awareness against domestic abuse. She has shared her own past experiences with relationships that turned physically abusive, and she even incorporated elements of her personal history into her work on television.
