Anna Faris was born in Baltimore, United States, on November 29, 1976. Her parents moved the family to Edmonds, Washington, when she was six years old. She attended Edmonds Woodway High School and graduated in 1994. Afterward, she studied at the University of Washington and earned a degree in English literature in 1999.
Encouraged by her parents, Anna gave her first professional performance at age nine in a production at the Seattle Repertory Theater. While in high school, she performed in local theater productions and radio plays. She later decided to pursue acting professionally and moved to Los Angeles.
