Early life and education
Antara Biswas was born in Kolkata, India. She attended Julien Day School on Elgin Road in South Kolkata for her initial education. Later, she enrolled at Asutosh College, which is affiliated with the University of Calcutta.
During her time at university, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sanskrit. She adopted the professional stage name Monalisa at the suggestion of her uncle before starting her career in the entertainment industry.
Film career and debut
Antara Biswas initially appeared in low-budget movies and model work for Odia video albums. She eventually made her Bollywood debut in the film Blackmail, which featured actors Ajay Devgn and Suniel Shetty.
She expanded her work to include South Indian film projects. This included a role opposite Amin Gazi in the movie Tauba Tauba and an appearance in a Kannada film titled Jackpot.
Her entry into the Bhojpuri film industry happened with the movie Bhole Shankar. This project starred Mithun Chakraborty and Manoj Tiwari. It achieved commercial success and set a record for the biggest opening for a film in that language.
Television work and rise to fame
Antara gained significant national attention after participating as a contestant on the reality show Bigg Boss 10 in 2016. Following this, she secured several prominent roles on Indian television networks.
She is well known for her portrayal of Mohana Mehta Rathod in the supernatural drama series Nazar. Other well-known television roles include playing Iravati Verma in the show Namak Issk Ka and Yamini Raichand in the series Bekaboo.
In 2022, she appeared alongside her spouse on the reality show Smart Jodi. She also took on the role of Rama in the production Favvara Chowk.

On January 17, 2017, Antara married Bhojpuri actor Vikrant Singh Rajpoot. The wedding ceremony took place during her participation in the Bigg Boss house. The couple later appeared together on television programs.
