Early life and studies
Barbara Meier was born in the Bavarian town of Amberg. Growing up, she did not initially plan to pursue a career in the fashion industry. After completing her schooling, she enrolled at the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences to study mathematics.
Rise to fame and modeling career
Competing on Germany's Next Topmodel required Barbara to complete various difficult challenges. During the season, she secured a leading role in a McDonald's television commercial alongside Heidi Klum. Despite having no prior professional modeling experience, she outperformed over 16,000 other competitors to win the show on May 24, 2007.
Acting and film projects
In 2010, Barbara Meier moved into the world of acting. She secured a role as the medium Morgana in the ProSieben mystery thriller Schreie der Vergessenen. Following this experience, she studied at the New York Film Academy in the summer of 2011 and took private acting lessons from various coaches in Germany and the United States.
