Cameron Richardson was born on September 11, 1979, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She grew up in New Jersey during her formative years. For her secondary education, she attended Old Bridge High School located in Old Bridge Township, New Jersey.
After finishing high school, Cameron relocated to New York City. She moved there to pursue modeling opportunities. While working in the fashion industry, her agents encouraged her to branch out into acting.
Modeling career
Cameron worked extensively as a fashion model. She appeared in publications such as Mademoiselle, Interview, and Cosmopolitan magazines. In 2006, she was featured on the cover of Ocean Drive. She also served as the cover model for the January and February issue of Women's Health Magazine in 2008.

Cameron transitioned from modeling to acting with various television appearances. In 2005, she played Paula Hargrove in the Fox series Point Pleasant. She guest starred on the television show House in 2006, portraying a young supermodel named Alex. She also appeared in multiple episodes of the HBO series Entourage as a waitress named Lindsay.
On the big screen, Cameron appeared in the family film Alvin and the Chipmunks in 2007. Her most prominent television role came in 2009 when she played Chloe Carter as a series regular on the CBS murder mystery miniseries Harper's Island.
