Early life and background
Catherine Amanda Fulop García was born on March 11, 1965, in Caracas, Venezuela. She grew up as the fifth child in a large family. Her mother, Cleopatra Geoconda García, was Venezuelan, while her father, György Fülöp, was Hungarian. Her father moved to Venezuela after the second World War. She was raised with six sisters and one brother.
Modeling and pageant career
In 1986, she began her public career by competing in beauty pageants. She represented the state of Vargas in the Miss Venezuela 1986 contest, where she finished as the fourth runner-up. That same year, she also participated in the Miss Latin America pageant. She finished that competition as the third runner-up.
Acting and television work
Catherine Fulop started her television career in 1987 with a role in the series Roberta. Later that year, she landed a starring role in the television series Mi amada Beatriz alongside Miguel Alcántara. This marked the beginning of a productive acting run. She went on to star in numerous projects, including La muchacha del Circo and Amor Marcado in 1988, both of which featured Fernando Carrillo.
From 1988 to 1989, she starred in the popular series Abigail. She continued working steadily throughout the 1990s with leading roles in Pasionaria, Mundo de fieras, and Déjate querer. Her career later expanded to include youth-oriented programming. From 2002 to 2003, she was part of the cast for the series Rebelde Way. In more recent years, she has appeared in shows such as Taxxi, amores cruzados and Por amarte así.
Personal life and family
She was married to actor Fernando Carrillo from 1990 until their divorce in 1994. In 1998, she married Argentine businessman Osvaldo Sabatini. The couple has two daughters together named Oriana Sabatini and Tiziana Beatriz Sabatini. After living in South America for her entire life, she officially became a naturalized Argentine citizen in March 2021. The family resides in Buenos Aires.
