Early life and education
Charlie O'Connell was born in New York City on April 21, 1975. His mother, Linda Witkowski, worked as an art teacher. His father, Michael O'Connell, served as an art director for an advertising agency. His family heritage includes Irish, Italian, and Polish roots.
His maternal grandfather was Charles S. Witkowski, who served as the mayor of Jersey City in New Jersey. For his higher education, Charlie attended New York University. He grew up with his older brother, Jerry O'Connell, with whom he would later collaborate on several professional projects in Hollywood.
Acting and television career
Charlie O'Connell began his career with small roles in various films. He appeared in the 2000 movie Dude, Where's My Car? And played a role in the film The New Guy. He also performed in The Magicians and the television movie Kraken: Tentacles of the Deep.
His television work includes guest spots on programs such as V.I.P., Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane, and Wasteland. He also appeared in the series Without a Trace and Love, Inc. In 2011, he acted in Bar Karma, Femme Fatales, and Reed Between the Lines. He later appeared in The Haunted Hathaways in 2014.
Charlie gained significant attention for his work alongside his brother Jerry. He played Colin Mallory during the fourth season of the science fiction show Sliders. Also, he appeared in two episodes of the crime drama Crossing Jordan as the onscreen brother of Detective Woody Hoyt.
