Who is Dan Bilzerian?
Early life and background
Daniel Brandon Bilzerian was born on December 7, 1980, in Tampa, Florida. He is the son of corporate takeover specialist Paul Bilzerian and Terri Steffen. His brother is Adam Bilzerian, who is also a poker player. They are half Armenian-American through their father, who provided both sons with trust funds.
For his education, Dan attended Gaither High School and Admiral Farragut Academy. He later studied for four years at the University of Florida, majoring in business and criminology. However, he dropped out of college before graduating to pursue a professional poker career.
Social media rise and poker career
In the 2010s, Dan Bilzerian gained big attention on platforms like Instagram by sharing photos of luxury cars, weapons, private jets, and scantily clad models. Because of this widespread online following, he became widely known as the King of Instagram.
Alongside his online presence, Dan pursued poker. He played in the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event, finishing in 180th place. In November 2013, he claimed to have won $10.8 million in a single night of playing poker, and later stated that he won $50 million during the 2014 calendar year.
Business ventures and film appearances
Dan has been involved in business ventures, including claiming to run Ignite International Brands Ltd. The company sold electronic cigarettes, CBD oils, water bottles, and vodka. Ignite began trading publicly in January 2019 under the BILZF ticker before going private in June 2022.
In addition to his business work, Dan has appeared in several feature films. He had roles in Lone Survivor in 2013, The Equalizer and Cat Run 2 in 2014, and Extraction in 2015. He also wrote an autobiography titled The Setup, which was published in 2021.

In politics, Dan launched a congressional campaign in Florida's 6th U.S. House District for the 2026 midterm elections, running as a Republican. He finished in second place in the Republican primary behind the incumbent, Randy Fine.
