Who is David Boreanaz?
Early life and education
David Boreanaz was born in Buffalo, New York. His father, Dave Roberts, was a weather presenter for WKBW-TV and hosted a show called Rocketship 7. His mother, Patti, worked as a travel agent. David has two older sisters. His paternal side has Italian and Slovenian ancestry. His mother is half Slovak and partly Irish, German, French, and Swiss.
At age seven, his family moved to the Philadelphia area. David went to the Rosemont School of the Holy Child. He later attended Malvern Preparatory School, where he played on the football team. In 1991, he finished his cinema and photography degree at Ithaca College.
Path to fame
After graduating, David moved to Los Angeles. He struggled to find work and slept on his sister's couch. He worked as a production assistant on film sets to gain experience. His first role was as a background extra in the 1993 movie Aspen Extreme. He also worked on props and had an uncredited role in Best of the Best II.
His first paid acting job was a guest spot on Married... With Children in 1993. He played a biker boyfriend. David Boreanaz joined the cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Angel. This character was a vampire with a soul as punishment from the Romani people. He played this role from 1997 to 1999.

The success of Buffy led to a spin-off series called Angel. This show focused on the character's quest for redemption and ran until 2004. In 2005, David Boreanaz began starring as Special Agent Seeley Booth in Bones. He became a producer on the show during its third season and directed episodes starting in the fourth season.
He starred in the horror film Valentine in 2001 and the movie I'm with Lucy in 2002. He voiced Leon in the video game Kingdom Hearts and Hal Jordan in Justice League: The New Frontier. Other film credits include The Hard Easy, The Mighty Macs, and Officer Down. He played Jason Hayes in SEAL Team from 2017 to 2024. He will star in and produce a reboot of The Rockford Files in 2027.
Family and personal life
David Boreanaz and Ingrid Quinn were married between 1997 and 1999. He wed Jaime Bergman on November 24, 2001. They have two children, Jaden Rayne and Bella Vita Bardot. In 2013, he and his wife co-founded a nail polish company called Chrome Girl. He helped create the NHL colors line for the brand.
David Boreanaz is a sports fan who supports the Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia Eagles. In 2004, he underwent surgery for a left knee injury from high school. In 2010, he admitted to having an affair with Rachel Uchitel. That same year, a Bones co-worker sued him for sexual harassment. Her attorney requested the dismissal of the lawsuit in March 2011.
