Who is David Cross?
Early life and upbringing
David Cross was born in Roswell, Georgia. His parents were Susi and Barry Cross, with his father being an immigrant from Leeds, England. Shortly after his birth, his family relocated to Florida and subsequently lived in New York and Connecticut before moving back to Roswell. He grew up as the eldest of three children, having two younger sisters.
Starting a career in comedy
David began his stand-up comedy path around the age of seventeen. Following his graduation from Northside High School in Atlanta, he moved to New York City. He briefly worked for a lawn care business on Long Island before attending Emerson College in Boston. Although he only stayed for one semester, he joined a sketch group called This is Pathetic, where he met John Ennis.
Television and film roles
David started his professional television career writing for The Ben Stiller Show. During this period, he met Bob Odenkirk. The two later co-created the HBO sketch series Mr. Show with Bob and David in 1995. This work earned him significant acclaim, including multiple Emmy nominations. In 1993, he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series for his contributions to The Ben Stiller Show.

His stand-up material often focuses on political satire and social commentary. David released his first tour film, Let America Laugh, in 2003. Throughout his career, he has released numerous comedy albums, including Shut Up You Fucking Baby!, It's Not Funny, Bigger and Blackerer, and Making America Great Again.
