Who is Dominic Sherwood?
Early life
Dominic Sherwood was born in Royal Tunbridge Wells, United Kingdom. He attended Oakwood Park Grammar School in Maidstone for his secondary education. Following his time there, he studied drama and theatre in Maidstone and Sevenoaks.
After his studies, he left to work abroad. He began by working in Kenya for six months before eventually moving to London to pursue other opportunities.
Acting career
Dominic Sherwood started his onscreen career with an appearance in the television series The Cut as Jack Simmons in 2010. The following year, he guest starred in an episode of Sadie J. He also secured a small role as a young Mick Jagger in the drama film Not Fade Away in 2012.
His breakthrough came in 2014 when he was cast as Christian Ozera in the horror film Vampire Academy. Following this project, he appeared in Taylor Swift's music video for the single Style in 2015. Later that year, he was cast as Jace Herondale in the fantasy drama series Shadowhunters, which aired on Freeform until 2019.
He continued taking on diverse television and film roles over the next several years. He appeared in Penny Dreadful: City of Angels in 2020 and starred in the Netflix legal drama series Partner Track in 2022. Also, he began co-hosting a rewatch podcast titled Return to the Shadows in 2022.
Personal life
Dominic Sherwood has sectoral heterochromia, a condition where one of his eyes is blue and the other eye is half blue and half brown. He has also been involved in several high profile relationships throughout his career.
He previously dated his Vampire Academy co-star Sarah Hyland from 2015 to 2017. He was later in a relationship with actress Decker Sadowski and subsequently began dating actress Francesca Corney.
