Early life and education
Gabriela Tafur Nader was born in Cali, Colombia, on July 7, 1995. Her parents are Olga Liliana Nader and Octavio Tafur. She has Lebanese ancestry on her mother's side, as her grandfather immigrated to Colombia from the Chartoun region during the Lebanese Civil War. She is multilingual, speaking Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
For her primary and secondary education, she attended Colegio Bolivar in her home city of Cali. After finishing school, she relocated to the capital city of Bogotá. She enrolled at the University of Los Andes to study law. Gabriela Tafur Nader performed well in her studies and graduated from the institution cum laude.
Professional legal career
After completing her university degree, Gabriela pursued a career in the legal field. She was employed by the legal department of Microsoft Colombia. Her professional experience also includes working as a coordinator for the commercial law specialization program at the University of Los Andes.

In 2018, Gabriela competed in the Miss Colombia pageant held in Cartagena. She won the main title and was crowned by the previous winner, Valeria Morales. During the event, she also received the special titles of Miss Punctuality Bulova and Queen of the Police. As a representative of her country, she was later invited to attend a Lebanese diaspora energy conference in 2019.
Gabriela Tafur Nader represented Colombia on the global stage at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant. She reached the top five stage of the competition after advancing through the preliminary rounds, which included swimsuit and evening gown segments. Her performance in the final question and answer portion helped secure her placement among the top finalists.
Marriage and personal life
On September 7, 2024, Gabriela married Esteban Santos. The wedding ceremony took place at Hacienda Manuelita, located in the Valle del Cauca department of Colombia. Esteban Santos is the youngest son of the former Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and his wife, María Clemencia de Santos.
