Jennifer Beals was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother, Jeanne, was a teacher, while her father, Alfred, managed grocery stores. She has two siblings named Bobby and Gregory. During her childhood, she held an early job at an ice cream shop to earn money. Jennifer attended the Francis W. Parker School in her hometown for her secondary education.
