Early life and background
Josh Brolin was born on February 12, 1968, in Santa Monica, California. His father is the actor James Brolin, and his mother, Jane Cameron Agee, worked as a wildlife activist and casting director. Growing up, he lived on a ranch in the Adelaida area of Paso Robles. He attended elementary and middle school in Templeton before moving to the Santa Barbara area around age 11.
During his youth, Josh attended Santa Barbara High School. He was part of a surfing group known as the Cito Rats.
