Early life and real name
Katherine Kelly Lang was born Katherine Kelly Wegeman in Hollywood, California, on July 25, 1961. She graduated from Beverly Hills High School in her hometown.
She comes from an artistic family background. Her father was Olympic ski jumper Keith R. Wegeman and her mother was actress Judith Lang. She is also the granddaughter of Oscar-winning cinematographer Charles Lang.
Acting career
Katherine made her acting debut in the 1979 film Skatetown, U.S.A., working alongside actors such as Patrick Swayze and Scott Baio. Following her film debut, she appeared in guest roles across numerous television series during the 1980s, including Happy Days, Magnum, P.I., The Fall Guy, and Riptide. She also appeared in music videos for bands like The Beach Boys and Alabama.
In 1987, Katherine was cast as Brooke Logan on the CBS daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. Her character became central to major storylines, including a long-running love triangle involving Ridge Forrester and Taylor. She reached a milestone by remaining on the program continuously alongside co-star John McCook. In 1999 and 2007, she also made crossover appearances as Brooke on The Young and the Restless.
International guest roles
Beyond her long-running role on American daytime television, Katherine expanded her career internationally. In 2016, she made a special guest appearance as herself on the Australian soap opera Neighbours. She returned to Australian television in January 2019 as a contestant on the reality show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
Later in 2019, Katherine traveled to Greece to guest star on the Greek soap opera 8 lexeis broadcast on SKAI TV. She portrayed a reporter named Grace Heart who traveled from New York to Corfu under a false identity.
Family and personal life
Katherine has been married twice and is the mother of three children from her marriages. Her sons are Jeremy Skott Snider, born in 1990, and Julian Lang Snider, born in 1992, from her marriage to Skott Snider. Her daughter Zoe Katrina D'Andrea was born in 1997 from her marriage to Alex D'Andrea. She also has a stepdaughter named Danyelle D'Andrea, who was born in 1991.
In November 2012, Katherine filed for divorce from her husband after 15 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. She later became a grandmother in May 2018 when her daughter Zoe gave birth to a daughter named Zuma.
