Who is Kavita Kaushik?
Early life
Kavita Kaushik was born on February 15, 1981, in New Delhi, India. She grew up in a Brahmin family as the daughter of Dinesh Chandra Kaushik, who worked as a former CRPF officer. During her youth, she pursued her education in the capital city of India.
She attended Indraprastha College for Women in Delhi where she graduated with a degree in philosophy. While still a student at the college, she began working on her career by taking up modeling assignments, hosting various events, and anchoring programs before moving to Mumbai.
Career highlights
Kavita started her television career by making her debut in Ekta Kapoor's show Kutumb. She subsequently appeared in several daily soaps during the early 2000s, including Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kohi Apna Sa, Kammal, and Kumkum, Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan. She also made her first Bollywood appearance in the 2004 thriller film Ek Hasina Thi.
Her major career breakthrough arrived in 2006 when she was cast as the main lead, Chandramukhi Chautala, in the SAB TV sitcom F.I.R. The role of the gutsy female police officer running a police station made her widely known across India and won her multiple accolades. The series enjoyed a long run on television, completing one thousand episodes.
After leaving F.I.R. Briefly in 2013 to star in another sitcom titled Tota Weds Maina, Kavita returned to her signature role on F.I.R. Until the show ended in January 2015. Beyond television serials, she has hosted programs like Savdhaan India, presented the sports reality show Box Cricket League, and acted in several Punjabi films such as Vekh Baraatan Challiyan and Mindo Taseeldarni.
Personal life
In her personal life, Kavita was previously in a relationship with fellow television actor Karan Grover with whom she participated in the celebrity dance reality show Nach Baliye 3 before they separated in 2008. She later married her longtime friend and businessman Ronnit Biswas in January 2017.
Kavita stands at a height of 180 centimeters. She has also participated in other high-profile reality television programs, including Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 and Bigg Boss 14 as a wild card contestant.
