Biography
Who is Kevin Jonas?
Early life and background
Paul Kevin Jonas II was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, on November 5, 1987. He grew up in the town of Wyckoff. His mother, Denise Marie, worked as a sign language teacher and singer. His father, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr., was a songwriter, musician, and an ordained minister at an Assemblies of God church. Kevin has three younger brothers named Joe, Nick, and Frankie. As a child, he appeared in print advertisements and television commercials.
Unlike his siblings, he did not originally plan to pursue a career in music. His interest began unexpectedly when he found a book about guitar playing and started practicing on his father's instrument. He attended school at the Eastern Christian High School in North Haledon, New Jersey.
Rise to fame with Jonas Brothers
In 2005, Columbia Records signed the three brothers after hearing a song they wrote together. The group initially considered the name Sons of Jonas before choosing the name Jonas Brothers. Their first studio album, It's About Time, arrived in August 2006. However, the label dropped the band the following year.
The group signed with Hollywood Records in early 2007. Their self-titled second album reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. They achieved major visibility through guest appearances on the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. Their episode, titled Me and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas, set records for basic cable viewership. The brothers also starred in the musical film Camp Rock alongside Demi Lovato, playing the band Connect 3. This led to their own Disney Channel reality series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream, and the scripted show Jonas, which later became Jonas L.A.
Career transitions and solo projects
Following the release of their fourth album, Lines, Vines, and Trying Times, the group eventually parted ways with Hollywood Records in 2012. That same year, Kevin starred in the E! Reality series Married to Jonas, which featured his domestic life with his wife, Danielle Jonas. The band officially announced a breakup in 2013, citing creative differences.
During the hiatus, Kevin moved into business ventures. He founded a construction and real estate firm called JonasWerner and became co-CEO of an influencer marketing company named The Blu Market. He also competed on the seventh season of The Celebrity Apprentice in 2014. Also, he developed a food app called Yood and formed a partnership with the video-sharing platform We Heart It.
Band reunion and recent work
The Jonas Brothers reunited in early 2019, releasing the single Sucker in March. They subsequently launched the studio album Happiness Begins. Their reunion was documented in the Amazon Prime Video films Chasing Happiness and Happiness Continues. The brothers have since collaborated with various artists on tracks like Runaway and Lonely.
Beyond music, Kevin continues to work in television. Since 2022, he has co-hosted the ABC competition show Claim to Fame with his brother, Franklin Jonas. He also began releasing solo music, including his debut single Changing in late 2025 and the follow-up track Little Things in 2026.
