Early life and real name
Laura Prepon Helene Prepon was born on March 7, 1980, in Watchung, New Jersey. She grew up as the youngest of five children in her family. Her mother worked as a high school teacher and gourmet home chef, while her father practiced as an orthopedic surgeon. During her youth, she attended Watchung Hills Regional High School before studying at the Total Theatre Lab located in New York City.
When Laura was thirteen years old, her father passed away during open-heart surgery. Growing up, she experienced an interfaith upbringing that included both Jewish and Catholic traditions. As a teenager, she also worked as a model and traveled for photo shoots in international cities such as Paris, Milan, and Brazil.

Laura gained widespread recognition when she was cast as Donna Pinciotti on the Fox sitcom That '70s Show. She starred in the series from 1998 to 2006 alongside an ensemble cast, portraying the girlfriend and next-door neighbor of Eric Forman.
